Case Study Planning Advice

Most often the development process begins with understanding what might be possible within the constraints of the relevant town planning scheme.

Planning provisions are often quite complex. Our skill is in understanding and interpreting planning legislation and regulations. As professional planners, we are able to assess the wider planning context, and how councils and the courts have interpreted planning schemes.

Our advice to clients is built on over 15 years experience within the South Australian planning system.

We know that planning schemes are not black and white documents, they are guidelines and their provisions can sometimes be overlapping and conflicting. Understanding what is possible often involves further interpretation. The mere fact that a proposal does not meet the minimum sizes set out in the plan may not be enough to rule it out if the project has other benefits such as enhancing the streetscape or exhibiting a high level of design.
